Who we Are - Cabbage Soup Med Diet

We are Cabbage Soup & Med Diet

The following is the introduction in the ebook.

Congratulations for making the 1st step to a happier, healthier you! As part of the introduction, I need to note that the Cabbage Soup Diet, also known as the “Sacred Heart Diet” or “Mayo Clinic Diet” is a short-term diet that has been around for decades and promises quick and healthy weight loss, 7 to 10 pounds in your first week. This diet involves consuming mostly cabbage soup for seven days, with limited intake of other foods, to jumpstart weight loss and flush toxins from the body.
How many times have I said it? How about you? “Time to lose a few pounds”. On my side it has been a few too many times to count. As I leave my doctor after receiving the results of the much loved annual physical, I reflect on the years that have gone by and the sincere hope that I have many more to enjoy with my wife and family. It is no secret that caring for your health plays a major part in that enjoyment. This alone provides me with the answer as to why I will deny myself some of the more delicious foods in life and embark on a week of the Cabbage soup & Mediterranean Diet Lifestyle in combination with a continual fitness schedule. Check out my video on fitness around world monuments at www.cabbagesoupmeddiet.com.
In the following pages I will endeavor to describe what my lovely wife and I do on a semi-annual basis, to increase our health quotient, prolong our longevity and live a fitter and healthier life.
My wife is in perfect health with a blood pressure that is in the 110/70 range on a regular basis. No red flags come up on our home blood pressure monitor that say you exceed WHO standards and to contact your physician immediately. Me, on the other hand, set off several alarm bells if I do not follow my physicians prescribed plan of blood pressure pills daily and a responsible diet. Although I do allow myself the occasional juicy hamburger (I have my own homemade recipe that always gets raves, come BBQ season) it is not the norm. Our usual diet will consist of a breakfast on alternating days of porridge with blueberries, apples pieces, banana slices topped with 0% fat yogurt followed the next day with eggs and fruit. The porridge part of our diet is us working to control and keep in check our cholesterol levels. The next morning, we will indulge ourselves with 2 eggs each and a variety of fresh fruit. Very similar to the ingredients we add to our porridge.
These 2 eggs each can present themselves as a simple fried egg (we never use butter, cooking spray is our choice) or they may present themselves as a frittata, or an omelette. One of our favorites is a spinach omelette. Perhaps recipes for another E-book. Lunch will consist of a green salad with black or red kidney beans or tuna. Coleslaw with a bit of low fat mayonnaise and mustard is also a favorite of ours. Dinner will often be a fish/shrimp dish, chicken or red meat being served once a week. It is important to note that all things must be consumed in portions that are in keeping with a healthy diet.

Our decision in combining the Cabbage soup & Mediterranean diet is one of combining the best of both worlds. As previously mentioned, my wife’s blood pressure is what WHO calls very good and mine not as good. I by no means am suffering but am aware of the pitfalls that hypertension can result in. Looking at the way we consume food, the changes in the one-week diet are modest at best and have proven beneficial to us. By including portions of the Mediterranean diet with the well known, Cabbage soup diet, its benefits in the assistance to ease hypertension are achieved. In the following chapters describing the daily food consumption, the combination of the Cabbage soup diet and the Mediterranean diet will reveal itself.

All this to say that it will take a bit of will power to not run back to the yummy foods for a week and stick to your goal in the statement you said to yourself. “Time to lose a little weight”.

Let’s get ready by asking yourself about:

•Your state of mind

•What Exercise do I prefer?

•What is your goal?

OK! Let's get started!
